PLMJ extends network of national partners to the Autonomous Region of Madeira

17/07/2014
The law firm PLMJ has recently extended its National Partners Network after signing an agreement with Mendes Londral & Associados (ML&A), a leading law firm in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

For PLMJ’s managing partner Manuel Santos Vítor, “We are very pleased to have established this partnership with ML&A and to have extended out national coverage. With a network of partners that already includes law firms in Coimbra, Viseu, Guimarães and the Azores, it makes perfect sense to extend this network to the Autonomous Region of Madeira. This is a region with excellent companies and projects and a great ability to attract investors.”

He added, “We are extending the network with a preferred partner with whom we identify. This partner brings the guarantee of a standard of service that meets the expectations of PLMJ’s clients, as well in-depth knowledge of the economy, structures and companies of the region.
The firm of Mendes Londral & Associados was founded in 1946 and, since then, it has been a point of reference in the legal world in Madeira. ML&A’s current partners are Isabel Mendes Londral and Roberto Mendes Londral, who was an associate at PLMJ between 2006 and 2010.

ML&A partner Roberto Mendes Londral, says, “The partnership with PLMJ allows us to expand our work of providing legal services to the whole of Portugal as well as internationally, and to provide our clients with direct access to areas of greater specialisation in the legal profession, in response to the current demands and challenges of the market.”

In turn, ML&A’s other partner, Isabel Mendes Londral, sees this partnership as “the projection of a new dynamic in the firm, keeping up with the evolution of new models of legal practice in Madeira.

Under this new cooperation protocol, PLMJ and ML&A will benefit from the know-how and experience of each other’s professionals and from greater geographical coverage. The establishment of this partnership for mutual cooperation will provide PLMJ clients with a point of support in the Autonomous Region of Madeira for any issues or business involving the region.

In turn, ML&A’s clients will have access to all the offices and services of PLMJ in Lisbon, Oporto and Faro as well as to practically the whole country through the rest of the network partners in Coimbra, Guimarães, Viseu and the Azores. They will also benefit from the services of PLMJ International Legal Network.

The creation of the PLMJ National Partners Network was, and still is, an innovative project among Portuguese law firms and one that is crucial to PLMJ’s policy of proximity to the client. PLMJ’s vocation as a nationwide firm covering the whole country makes it possible for the clients of PLMJ and its partners to benefit from the experience, contacts and comprehensive know-how in terms of the economy, structures and professionals in each region.
