20/01/2015
PLMJ is once again on the shortlist for ‘Law firm of the year: Iberia’ at The Lawyer European Awards 2015, which are awarded by this prestigious London publication.

Every year, The Lawyer assesses the legal profession in Europe and awards the work of independent as well as global law firms that are most active in Europe’s most important markets.

PLMJ’s appearance on the shortlist is the result of its chievements during 2014. PLMJ lawyer’s advised on the main deals and projects taking place in Portugal and on a number of cross-border deals involving Angola, Mozambique, China and Switzerland, among others. The firm also handled hundreds of litigation cases and major international arbitrations. In all these cases, the quality of PLMJ’s work and the results it achieved were recognised.

It is important mention that these awards also recognise the management, strategic vision and capacity for innovation of the law firms assessed, as well as client service. Being on the shortlist of the best Iberian firms is, of itself, public and international recognition of PLMJ’s consistency and pioneering approach in management, and of the work of the firm, not only in service of its clients but also in managing a team that today includes more than 250 lawyers and 100 support staff working in five countries.

PLMJ, which is the largest law firm in Portugal, first won this award for ‘Law firm of the year: Iberia’ in 2012. In the preceding year, PLMJ founding partner, Luís Sáragga Leal, had received the award for ‘European Managing Partner of the year’ (2011 edition).

The awards will be given in London at a ceremony taking place on 12 March.
