Hugo Rosa Ferreira takes part in Iberian Lawyer debate on Sub-Saharan Africa

16/04/2015

Hugo Rosa Ferreira, the partner who heads PLMJ’s banking and finance practice, will speak at the “Agenda Africa Forum: Sub-Saharan Africa” event organised by Iberian Lawyer, which takes place on 17 April in London. Rosa Ferreira will join the panel on “The African Dream: The challenges for legal and compliance in unstable political and regulatory environments”, together with representatives from leading international companies and consultancy firms.

PLMJ’s involvement in this event comes on the heels of the opening of its UK Desk. Rosa Ferreira is responsible for this project, which further expands PLMJ's international presence and brings it closer to the decision-making hub for clients in this financial centre, as well as to the leading international law firms.

This is a crucial time to debate business opportunities in Angola and Mozambique, markets where PLMJ has a presence through PLMJ International Legal Network. The UK Desk will allow PLMJ to reach potential investors interested in these markets and to strengthen its network of contacts in London. The World Bank expects sub-Saharan Africa to see growth of 5.1% by 2017 due to investment in infrastructures, and increased agricultural production and seasonal services.
