PLMJ recognised by IFLR for international equity deal. Firm receives “Deal of the Year” award in Capital Markets

The law firm PLMJ has been honoured with the Equity (capital markets) Deal of the Year by the prestigious British publication International Financial Law Review. This category is traditionally dominated by major global law firms.

The Euronext IPO, handled by PLMJ working together with international law firms Linklaters, Loyens & Loeff, Shearman & Sterling, Stibbe and Willkie and Farr & Gallagher, was named equity (capital markets) deal of the year.

Raquel Azevedo, the PLMJ senior associate, who heads the team responsible for this deal, explained that “this award is important international recognition of the quality of service and the dedication of PLMJ's capital markets team in the context of a complex, multi--jurisdiction deal, which required us to seek innovative and effective solutions to the various challenges that arose”. PLMJ's capital markets team was responsible for advising on the acquisition of the world's largest stock market, NYSE Euronext by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) and the consequent IPO launched by the ICE Group. The IFLR awards recognise law firms for the work they do on the most innovative deals of the year with domestic and international importance in the areas of M&A, capital markets and financial law. The awards were given on 16 April at a ceremony in London and were attended by PLMJ partner Hugo Rosa Ferreira and senior associate Raquel Azevedo.
