18/05/2016

The PLMJ Italian Desk is on the shortlist for the 6th Edition of the “Premio Internazionale Le Fonti” of the “Le Fonti Awards” group in the category of “Italian Desk of the Year”. The “Premio Internazionale Le Fonti” award is sponsored by the European Commission and its aim is to recognise firms and professionals that develop better commercial and legal relationships in Europe.

PLMJ is the only Portuguese law firm shortlisted in the category “Italian Desk of the Year”. This category recognises the representative offices in Italy that make the greatest contribution to supporting Italian businesses in their international dealings. It focuses on their performance, capacity to win business and the deals they advise on.

For Serena Cabrita Neto, the PLMJ partner who heads the Italian Desk, “we were extremely pleased to receive this nomination, which proves the quality and skills of our lawyers and validates the strategic decision we made three years ago to focus on the Italian market. Above all, this is recognition of the work and pioneering approach of PLMJ in setting up PLMJ International Legal Network and the desks dedicated to a range of markets. The firm has also opened representative offices in a number of countries, reinventing itself as a legal partner of choice on an international level.”

The PLMJ Italian is made up of a group of lawyers with in-depth knowledge of the Italian language, market and culture. They also have a number of years of consolidated experience in advising clients and companies from Italy or with Italian capital. The lawyers of the PLMJ Italian Desk are perfectly placed to provide legal support to Italian clients that want to invest in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking countries, as well as in other countries covered by PLMJ International Legal Network. They are also skilled in advising Portuguese companies on their expansion to Italy, and they offer a multidisciplinary service.

The choice of the finalists for the Le Fonti international awards is made on the basis of research into articles, and on a questionnaire sent to 40,000 qualified contacts from the press and the legal world. The award winners will be announced at a ceremony taking place on 9 June at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan, Italy.
