Ana Teresa Serafino writes opinion article for Sapo on the transfer of data from Europe to the USA

PLMJ trainee lawyer Ana Teresa Serafino has written an opinion article for Sapo Tek on the EU-US Privacy Shield and its practical consequences. The Privacy Shield replaces the previous system known as Safe Harbour under which transfers of the personal data of citizens of the European Union to the USA were processed. The Court of Justice of the European Union had held that Safe Harbour was not adequate to protect the rights of data subjects when their data is transferred to the USA.
