Paulo Farinha Alves and José Ricardo Gonçalves, both PLMJ partners, speak to Iberian Lawyer about sports law
Paulo Farinha Alves, a partner from PLMJ Crime, and José Ricardo Gonçalves, partner and co-head of PLMJ’s office in Porto, have spoken to the magazine Iberian Lawyer about sports law.
Paulo Farinha Alves tells Iberian Lawyer that has growth in work in the area of sports law because of “the increasing complexity of players' transfer rights, television broadcast rights, sports betting and advertising, and the complexity of domestic and European regulations and the related litigation and arbitration issues concerning these areas".
José Ricardo Gonçalves points out that "the legalisation of sports betting has also created new opportunities. Also, compliance in sport will be a trending topic, specifically the growth in European and national regulation in relation to financial flows and the question of money laundering."
