PLMJ is once again on the shortlist for the Chambers Europe Awards 2017

22/02/2017

PLMJ is back on the shortlist of law firms nominated to receive the award "Portugal Law Firm of the Year" given by the prestigious international directory Chambers & Partners. Shortlisted every year since 2009, PLMJ is proud to have won this award on three occasions (2009, 2012 and 2014).

The aim of the Chambers Europe Awards is to recognise the law firms that have distinguished themselves in their own jurisdictions and in international markets. The awards are given on the basis of the work done by lawyers on the most significant operations of the past year, and they also take into account the strategic growth of teams and excellence in service to the client.

The large number of M&A, private equity, banking and real estate operations handled by PLMJ for major Portuguese and international companies in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique and China all contributed to its place on the 2017 shortlist. PLMJ’s nomination is also due to the large number of other significant matters its lawyers handle in areas including civil, criminal and financial litigation, international arbitration, tax, capital markets, regulatory, pharmaceuticals, competition, energy, projects and infrastructures, employment, and information technology and intellectual property.

For PLMJ’s managing partner Luís Pais Antunes, "the fact that PLMJ is continually shortlisted and frequently recognised as Law Firm of the Year in Portugal is a source of great pride and an incentive for us to continue to improve. In the year we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we are proud of the unparalleled team of around 300 lawyers and over 100 staff we have built to provide high quality legal advice and the best service to our clients. Every nomination – like every client who comes back to us or seeks out our services for the first time – means recognition of our quality, the strength of our brand and the wisdom of our strategy. All this motivates us to continue to seek excellence".
