Chambers Global 2018 names PLMJ among the top three firms in Portugal

16/02/2018

The international directory analyses five practice areas in more than 190 countries from the perspective of cross-border transactions. Chambers also looks at the internationalisation of firms, in other words, the offices and partners they have in other countries. The areas evaluated by the directory are Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate M&A, Dispute Resolution and Projects. PLMJ is ranked between band 1 and band 3 in all five areas.

The PLMJ Network offices, GLA (Angola) and TTA (Mozambique) were also ranked in band 3 and band 2, respectively.

These results reflect the level and the quality of the international operations of the work the firm did between 2016 and 2017. The guide reflects the situation in the Portuguese market and will be published in March with Chambers Europe.

18 PLMJ lawyers were ranked, from a group of 25 who were shortlisted: Bruno Ferreira, Hugo Rosa Ferreira, André Figueiredo, Gonçalo Reis Martins, Diogo Perestrelo, Miguel Spínola, Luís Sáragga Leal, Manuel Santos Vítor, Tomás Pessanha, José-Miguel Júdice, Nuno Líbano Monteiro, Pedro Faria, Pedro Metello de Nápoles, Tomás Timbane, Bruno Xavier de Pina, Rúben Brigolas, Inês Pinto da Costa, and Pedro Melo.

This list features three newly ranked lawyers. They are Gonçalo dos Reis Martins in Capital Markets in the Portuguese and UK markets, and Tomás Pessanha and Rúben Brigolas. The lawyers Hugo Rosa Ferreira, André Figueiredo, Tomás Timbane and Bruno Xavier de Pina also improved their positions in the ranking.
