03/09/2018

The law firm PLMJ is on the shortlist of international law firms selected by the Financial Times for the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards, which will take place on 4 October at the Natural History Museum in London, their customary venue. For the eighth consecutive year, PLMJ is on the shortlist for the most prestigious international awards for innovation presented annually by the Financial Times.

For PLMJ managing partner Luis Pais Antunes, "Being on the shortlist for the FT Innovative Lawyers Awards is very important to PLMJ. It is important not only for the recognition, but, above all, for the added motivation it brings us in planning and executing our various ongoing projects. It enables us to continue to be pioneers, who are astute and disruptive in providing legal services increasingly competitive world. The challenges of reinvention in our sector are enormous and our ambition is clear: we want to be a significant and challenging player in the context of transforming the provision of legal services and digitalising the economy. To achieve this, we will continue with the investment that PLMJ has been making in technology and its innovation processes."

The FT Awards are organised by the Financial Times in cooperation with RSG Consulting and they celebrate innovation in a sector where, traditionally, this term was not commonly heard. Instead of focusing on revenue or client and deal numbers, these awards value disruption, creativity and the positive impact lawyers can have on their clients' businesses and on society in general. On the day after the awards ceremony, the FT will also publish the 12th edition of the FT Innovative Lawyers Report, which is the leading ranking in the European legal sector. It provides a unique analysis of the sector, evaluating not only the power of lawyers to innovate with their clients, but also in managing their own operations.
