On the occasion of the 6th anniversary of PRO BONO Portugal, the first edition of the Pro Bono Awards took place yesterday at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. The event was honoured with the presence of the President of the Republic.

At this ceremony, Matilde Cortez Pinto, a lawyer from PLMJ’s Social Impact practice, won the 2020 PB Bono Lawyer  award, as recognition for being the lawyer who has handled the largest number of pro bono cases coming from the association, PRO BONO Portugal.

Since she joined PLMJ, Matilde has focused on pro bono cases, helping individual clients with both legal advice and in ensuring access to the courts and to justice.

The association PRO BONO Portugal enters into partnerships with institutions working in the field and arranges volunteer work by lawyers, law firms, mediators and notaries.
