PLMJ and the ICC organise seminar on "The Place of the New Intellectual Property Rights in Europe"

In partnership with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), PLMJ has organised a seminar on “The Place of the New Intellectual Property Rights in Europe”. This event, which will take place in the PLMJ Auditorium on 28 November, will address topics including: the “Trade Secrets Directive”, “Copyright Reform”, the “New EU Trademark Rules” and the “Unitary Patient”.

The topics will be presented by PLMJ lawyers and there will be additional comments from intellectual property specialists including PLMJ of counsel Pedro Lomba, Luís Pinto Monteiro, a senior associate from PLMJ Intellectual Property, Miguel Carretas, lawyer and VP of the ICC Intellectual Property Committee of Portugal, and the lawyer Manuel Oehen Mendes.

Manuel Lopes Rocha, the partner who heads PLMJ Intellectual Property, explains that “on a single day, we will present, analyse and comment in detail on the most recent developments in intellectual property in Europe. Participants will be updated on all there is to know about the most recent and most important changes to intellectual property law in the EU. The topics will be presented by PLMJ’s IP team, many of whom have master’s or are studying for their master’s in these areas”.

PLMJ managing partner, Luís Pais Antunes, and Nuno Pereira da Cruz, President of the Intellectual Property Commission of the ICC Portugal, will open the session. Ricardo Oliveira, the partner who heads PLMJ EU Law and Competition, and Peter Villax, entrepreneur and CEO of Hovione Capital, a patent inventor and author, will speak at the closing session.
