30/11/2017

The PLMJ Foundation won the award for best international project at the international Corporate Art Awards. The awards ceremony took place on 22 November, in the emblematic Spadolini Room of the Italian Ministry of Culture and featured a speech by the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, who highlighted the importance of cultural patronage in the 21st Century.

The aim of this annual international event is to recognise cultural projects in the business world that promote the best forms of cultural patronage. The event is organised by a partnership of pptArt, the LUISS Business School and the Italian Ministry of Culture.

The PLMJ Foundation received its award for the work it does in supporting and promoting artists from the Portuguese-speaking world, both in Portugal and internationally, and for its pursuit of the philosophy behind the Foundation’s defining motto "A law firm as a space for culture"”. PLMJ’s "space for culture" was recognised by the Scientific Committee of this cultural competition. The Committee is made up of representatives from a number of leading Italian cultural institutions, and it concluded that PLMJ’s project is both interesting and worthy of recognition, because of the innovative approach it takes to promoting art from the Portuguese-speaking world.

For Luis Sáragga Leal, the president of the PLMJ Foundation and a PLMJ founding partner: "This international recognition is the result of the virtues of innovation and social responsibility, and of the exchange of cultural values with the community in general, which are upheld and defended by PLMJ."

The 410 lawyers and of the PLMJ Network are very proud of this award for art from the Portuguese speaking world.
