About Abel
Abel is a partner in the Employment and Labour practice. He has more than 40 years’ experience in the legal profession and is one of Portugal’s most distinguished lawyers in this area. Besides his extensive experience in employment and labour law, Abel also specialises in pharmaceutical law.
He was a consultant and manager at the Ministry of Work, and has been a consultant to the Portuguese Confederation of Industry and to many employers’ associations and leading companies in most sectors of the economy.
Abel is recognised as a pre-eminent negotiator in collective bargaining, representing both business associations and employers. He is responsible for creating and implementing important innovations that helped bring greater flexibility to labour relations in Portugal.
Abel is a member of the Portuguese Labour Relations Association and the Portuguese Conciliation Association.
