About Rita

Rita is the managing associate who heads PLMJ’s China Desk. She coordinates PLMJ’s partnership with DSL Lawyers and its offices in mainland China and Hong Kong.

Having worked in Asia from 2011 until recently, Rita was initially based in Beijing and she has gained extensive experience in international transactions, corporate law and real estate.

Rita advises Chinese (mostly state-owned) companies investing Portuguese-speaking countries, and some of the large Portuguese companies that have entered the markets of China, Hong Kong and Macao.

She completed a postgraduate course in litigation practice and legal advice to companies at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon.

Rita is on the list of arbitrators, as a foreign arbitrator (Portugal/Macao and China), of the Shanghai International Arbitration Center (SHIAC) and she is a member of the Economic Committee of the Portuguese Embassy in Beijing. In Portugal, she represents PLMJ at the Portuguese-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
