About Filipe

Filipe is a managing associate in the Tax practice and has 10 years’ experience in advising on all areas of tax law, but with a focus on tax litigation.

He has represented important Portuguese and international clients on direct and indirect taxation, taxation of assets, extraordinary and other contributions, double taxation, and stamp duty. He also has extensive experience in dealing with tax inspection procedures, tax enforcement actions, tax offences, corporate reorganisations and property taxation.

Filipe has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto, an executive master’s in management for lawyers from the Católica Porto Business School and a master's in tax law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto. In addition, he has completed two postgraduate courses: one in corporate tax law at IDET/ Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra and the other in taxation at ISAG - European Business School.

Before joining PLMJ, he was a lawyer at the law firm Cuatrecasas.
