Maria da Conceição is a partner in the Corporate M&A practice.
With over 30 years’ experience, she focuses on advising Portuguese and foreign companies and investors on matters relating to corporate law, commercial contracts, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity.
Maria also advises on banking and financial law issues, and she heads a multidisciplinary team that is fluent in French and provides advice to investors and companies with mostly French capital.
Maria is also responsible for PLMJ’s work in São Tomé and Principe.
She is a guest lecturer on the postgraduate course in securities, banking and financial law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto.
Maria completed a postgraduate course in securities law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.
Before joining PLMJ, she was a founding partner of the law firm Cavaleiro Brandão, Pinheiro Torres, Cabral, Sousa e Silva e Associados and was legal adviser to Banco Comercial de Macau (1989-1997).
