Mariana is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice, focusing on arbitration. She has over 20 years’ experience in more than 40 Portuguese and international arbitration cases as a lawyer and as an arbitrator. These cases have been conducted under a wide variety of arbitration regulations (ICC, LCIA, CAC/CCIP, among others) and have had their seats in many locations around the world including Paris, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Luanda, Maputo, Brussels and Lisbon.
She is on the lists of arbitrators of Portuguese and international institutions and has regularly been appointed as an arbitrator.
Since 2018, Mariana has been the director of the NOVA School of Law where she is a professor and coordinates the master’s in court and arbitration law.
She is the author of extensive academic work of reference in the areas of arbitration law, civil procedural law and alternative dispute resolution.
Mariana is a member of the Portuguese Arbitration Association and of the ICC Portugal Arbitration Committee. She is also Vice President of the Board of the Commercial Arbitration Centre of the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
