About Sofia
Sofia is a partner in the Real Estate and Tourism practice. With over 20 years’ experience, she has focused on cross-border investments, acquisitions, financing and subsequent management of large property portfolios, and mergers and acquisitions.
Sofia has recognised experience in structuring operations involving large property portfolios, in particular, forward funding and forward purchases, acquisitions with guaranteed income, sale and lease back and turnkey contracts. Her experience also includes dealing with leases and other ways of operating office, tourism and leisure, shopping centre, retail park and outlet projects. Sofia advises investors and promoters during the planning and financing stages of real estate transactions and in structuring and implementing investment structures for real estate investment funds and other institutional investors. She is also one of the few lawyers in Portugal with experience in structuring investments governed by Sharia law.
Sofia has worked on the largest and most important acquisitions and real estate transactions carried out both in Portugal and in several other countries. In addition, she has extensive know-how when it comes to providing legal advice on various real estate investment models.
Sofia is fluent in English, Spanish and French and is learning Arabic.
