About Dirce

Dirce is a senior associate in the Criminal Law and Compliance practice and she has around 10 years’ experience in the legal profession, focusing on criminal and administrative offence litigation. In this time, she has acted as a defence lawyer in the great majority of Portugal’s highest profile administrative offence cases, in particular, in financial, capital markets and competition law matters.

In criminal law, she has represented clients in some of the largest and most complex criminal cases ever investigated and prosecuted in Portugal in recent years, particularly in the area of white-collar crime.

Dirce completed a postgraduate course in international and European judicial cooperation in criminal matters at the Faculty of the University of Coimbra and has a master’s in legal-judicial sciences (criminal procedural law / administrative offence law) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon.

She is a member of Fórum Penal, an association of criminal lawyers, where she is secretary of the board of the general meeting, and of Fair Trials International, where she is a member of the legal experts advisory panel).
