Frederico is a senior counsel in the Public law practice. With nearly 30 years’ experience, he has focused on real estate law and construction, public works concessions, projects and infrastructures, and litigation and arbitration.
Frederico has worked on the most important PPP concession contracts in Portugal, and he is known for his expertise in planning, construction and operation. Above all, he is recognised for his work in litigation relating to these activities, coordinating cases involving a number of motorway concessions and sub-concessions. He acts for concessionaires, construction companies and operators.
Frederico has taken part in domestic and international arbitrations as a lawyer and arbitrator, especially in disputes relating to design and construction. He has also advised on real estate transactions in the areas of trade, industry and tourism.
Frederico took an advanced course in international commercial arbitration at the ICC - International Chamber of Commerce and a specialisation course in public procurement by the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. He has lectured on the postgraduate course in property law at Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has given specialised training in arbitration, property, construction and tourism in other institutions and professional associations.
Frederico is a member of the Porto Commercial Association - Porto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Portuguese Arbitration Association (APA).
