12/04/2016 , WWL
The British directory, Who’s Who Legal, which specialises in researching leading lawyers and law firms around the world, has named PLMJ “Portuguese Firm of the Year 2016". The award was presented last night at a ceremony in New York attended by managing partner Luís Pais Antunes, and it is the second year in a row that PLMJ has won this award. Who’s Who Legal recognised the quality and innovation of the work done by Portugal’s largest law firm. It also recognised the firm’s commitment to attracting talent, and to leadership and internationalisation. This award reflects the work done by PLMJ’s lawyers in 2015 in advising on the main operations and projects that took place in Portugal, as well as on cross-border deals including Angola, Mozambique, China and Switzerland, in the areas of M&A, private equity, arbitration, and banking and finance. Besides focusing on legal work, the Who’s Who Legal awards place great importance on the management, strategic vision and capacity for innovation of the law firms evaluated, and on client service. PLMJ, Portugal’s largest law firm, which was recently identified as the most recognised brand in the legal sector in the country, had already been named “Portuguese Firm of the Year” between 2007 and 2011, and in 2015.
