PLMJ launches multidisciplinary think tank

20/03/2024

PLMJ has launched a think tank dedicated to corporate sustainability issues and the fintech sector. The objective is to extend the scope of the think tank to a number of critical areas for the business sector, developing and promoting in-depth, interdisciplinary knowledge on the most important issues for the growth of Portuguese companies, which are catalysts for economic activity.

The PLMJ Think Tank is a shared knowledge platform based on diverse and interdisciplinary contributions, bringing together academia, the legal sector and industry, and accessible to all.

Bruno Ferreira, managing partner of PLMJ: "There is extraordinary talent producing very important knowledge in these two areas, and we want to help accelerate the learning curve for Portuguese companies on issues that are critical to the sustainable growth of their business. But we want to do this beyond the logic of working with clients and promoting the production and availability of relevant knowledge.

Madalena Perestrelo de Oliveira, senior counsel at PLMJ and project leader: "These are new topics in terms of their practical application, which are still taking root in our business fabric, and we need to support the solid construction of these areas of knowledge. We already have contributions from brilliant academics, industry leaders in these areas and lawyers not only from PLMJ, who have produced in-depth knowledge on these topics and we thought it should be shared with those who can benefit from it."

The PLMJ Think Tank will identify practical issues of key importance to businesses and suggest ways of addressing them, based on academic research, and will support national businesses with a knowledge base and training that addresses the practical challenges that businesses face on a daily basis.
