The PLMJ Foundation has received the "A" Award for Collecting from ARCOmadrid in the "International Corporate Collection 2024" category. ARCO director Maribel López presented the award to the PLMJ Foundation at a ceremony in Madrid. In presenting the award, she emphasised that "the PLMJ Foundation's contemporary art collection stands out as a non-profit corporate art collection which, since its creation, has supported more than 500 artists of different generations from Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries. Thanks to its constant commitment over more than 20 years, the PLMJ Foundation has established itself as a leading cultural institution in Portugal".

Eduardo Nogueira Pinto, Executive Chairman of the PLMJ Foundation, accepted the award: "It is a great honour and pleasure to receive this award from ARCO on behalf of the PLMJ Foundation. ARCO is a compass for contemporary art and has done so much to promote new talent and set the tone for future challenges and generations. Each year ARCO has honoured collections that we consider to be world class, and this year we are grateful to join this distinguished group of renowned contemporary art collections. This award is especially for the artists we have supported over the past 25 years. We are very proud of their journeys since they joined the Foundation as emerging artists. Seeing them at ARCO, in Madrid and in Lisbon, gives us great satisfaction and is what we work towards every day. Our ambition is to be here in 25 years, as proud as we are today, with more artists from Portugal and other Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Angola, Mozambique and Brazil, being recognised by ARCO as the present and future of contemporary art".

The PLMJ Foundation shares this award with the entire PLMJ team, with special thanks to Luis Sáragga Leal and the partners who decided to create the Foundation 23 years ago. In doing so, they went beyond what was strictly related to the firm's primary mission, the practice of law, and committed themselves to being patrons of the cultural and artistic community. It is this vision of the PLMJ partners that has enabled us to come this far, recognising the responsibility to contribute to the community and embarking on a path of support for artistic production that continues to this day.
