Following on from the "Mais Habitação" (More Housing) package, a set of measures has now been published to reform and simplify urban planning procedures and other related matters (SIMPLEX).
The PLMJ team has prepared a guide highlighting the main changes to the various pieces of legislation, such as the Legal Framework for Urban Development and Construction (RJUE), the General Regulations for Urban Buildings (RGEU), the Legal Framework for Territorial Management Instruments (RJIGT), the Law on the General Bases of Public Policy on Land and Town and Country Planning, and the Legal Framework for Urban Rehabilitation.
We also recorded an episode of the PLMJ Podcast with Andreia Candeias Mousinho, a partner in our Public Law practice. In this episode, we give a brief overview of the changes brought about by this new legislation and answer the questions that remain, with implications for both private developers and public organisations.
