Thank you, Luís Pais Antunes

05/01/2023

After 25 years as a partner at PLMJ and the last 8 years as managing partner Luís Pais Antunes is ending his career at the firm. His departure is in accordance with the firm's regulations which provide that partners must leave at the end of the year in which they reach the age of 65.

In the last three years, Luís Pais Antunes has shared the leadership of the firm with Bruno Ferreira, who was recently re-elected managing partner for the three-year period 2022-2024, and Bruno will hold this position alone from here on.

PLMJ managing partner Bruno Ferreira: “PLMJ could not be more grateful to Luís Pais Antunes for his dedication and the calm but determined way he has led the firm over the past decade. Beyond the gratitude of the organisation, I would also like to say a personal word of thanks to Luís for the generosity with which he shared his already long experience as managing partner with me when I was challenged to be at his side. All of us at PLMJ are proud of the firm’s journey in recent years. We arrive in 2023 excited about the future and this is also Luís’ legacy.”

Luís Pais Antunes: “It has been a privilege to have been able to live and learn, throughout this quarter of a century, from the magnificent people –  the lawyers and management team – who make PLMJ such an outstanding organisation. I am proud of the path we have walked together and I am sure that PLMJ will continue to be better and stronger under the continued leadership of Bruno, to whom I wish – and anticipate – every success.”

A lawyer since 1982, Luís Pais Antunes joined PLMJ in 1997 after having worked for the European Commission, the European Court, and as Director-General for Competition and Pricing. Between 2002 and 2005 he was part of the 15th and 16th  Constitutional Governments of Portugal as Secretary of State.
