The Legal 500 and PLMJ are partners in the Global Green Guide

03/03/2022

PLMJ is the partner of The Legal 500 for the launch of the Global Green Guide, which is a partnership intended to highlight the contribution of the legal sector in the EMEA region to mitigating climate change.

Over the next 12 months, The Legal 500 and PLMJ will organise a series of virtual and face-to-face discussions that will serve as a forum for the sector to share trends and best practices.

The Legal 500's Global Green Guide seeks to highlight the firms that, on an international scale, contribute to a green transition, whether through the work they carry out for clients on issues of climate change mitigation and sustainability, or through the good practices and internal initiatives of the firms themselves.

Anna Baubock, editor, The Legal 500 Global Green Guide - "With increasing demand from companies and investors for sustainability, some firms have been particularly quick to build a range of services to meet this growing demand. PLMJ's Responsible Business practice joins the group of innovative law firms in the areas of sustainable finance, impact investing, human rights and business ethics. We are excited about this partnership with PLMJ, which allows us to explore the work and strategy that has been developed on sustainability issues by the legal sector in the EMEA region."

Bruno Ferreira, PLMJ managing partner - "We are delighted to be The Legal 500's partner in the Global Green Guide, particularly as The Legal 500 has a tradition of bringing together extraordinary resources, which makes it the perfect partner to support the legal sector in this green transition. The way we view human and environmental challenges is intrinsically linked to our professional activity. The ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) matrix is at the heart of PLMJ's strategy. Social intervention and sustainability are a tradition and we are committed to exploring new ways of consolidating and strengthening this tradition. We are also determined to be increasingly ambitious and committed to focusing on the well-being of our people, to monitor the social impact of our work and to always support our clients and partners.

We believe, above all, that it is always possible to give back to society without losing sight of the principle of prosperity that must always be present. Our vision of business ethics is based precisely on this balance of managing and mitigating our impact on the environment and society, on the one hand, and building a project that is economically sustainable and continuously growing, on the other".
