PLMJ organises last session of “Direito Mega Wave”

12/12/2017

"The end of the law or a new legal pluralism?" is the topic of the session that will close PLMJ's cycle of conferences dedicated to technology. The session takes place on Friday, 15 December at 9 a.m. in the PLMJ Auditorium in Lisbon.

At the end of the year, PLMJ took a close look at the crossroads between law and technology at a time when the use of robots and artificial intelligence is growing at a startling rate.

This is an opportunity to look at the new challenges we are facing and to consider the relationship between the traditional law and the new legal pluralism, and the sweeping changes taking place in technology. How will the legal professions look in the near future?

These topics will be addressed by one of the greatest Portuguese specialists who has spent the last few years looking into the ties between law and technology. He is the Senior Copyright Counsel for Google in Europe, Cédric Manara (University lecturer at EDHEC Business School; Panthéon-Assas and Panthéon-Sorbonne Universities; Consultant at Google on intellectual property issues).

The session will also feature Manuel Lopes Rocha, the partner who heads PLMJ Intellectual Property, and Pedro Lomba, a PLMJ of counsel. These two lawyers are also the coordinators of project.
