PLMJ senior associate Manuel Liberal Jerónimo writes opinion article on maritime Simplex for Jornal de Negócios

Manuel Liberal Jerónimo, a PLMJ senior associate who specialises in maritime and transport law, has written an opinion article on the Single Port Invoice (Fatura Única Portuária) introduced by the recent ministerial order no. 14/2017.

In the article, the PLMJ lawyer explains that "In simple terms, the Single Port Invoice is a payment document that includes the assessment and invoicing of all the public bodies that provide services to ships, upon departure from the port." He goes on to point out that "this is an apparently simple measure that we believe will contribute to bringing the desired greater competitiveness to Portuguese ports in the European and Atlantic context. It will certainly be welcomed by most Portuguese and international shipping companies".
