About Rui

Rui is an associate in the Public law practice. He has advised on the implementation and operation of projects and infrastructures and on various other transactions, with a special focus on energy and natural resources and on contractual, regulatory, administrative and financing issues.

In the area of energy, Rui has focused on advising Portuguese and foreign companies on their investment projects in Portugal or in other countries of the Portuguese-speaking world. He has acquired experience in renewable energies, the gas sector and electric mobility. He has also represented clients in the resolution of judicial and arbitration disputes in the areas of energy and regulation.

Rui has a master’s in legal sciences (civil law) from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. He also completed an advanced postgraduate course in corporate litigation at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and he attended an intensive specialisation course in investment funds at the same faculty. Rui took a postgraduate course in energy law at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and has attended various intensive focising on matters such as power purchase agreements (Redcliffe Training) and renewable energy law (Nova School of Law).
