PLMJ Foundation presents exhibition at Cordoaria Nacional

09/10/2023

The PLMJ Foundation presents Zonas de Transição ('Transition Zones'), the most comprehensive exhibition of the last 15 years at the PLMJ Foundation. This exhibition reflects a broad vision of the collection and of four decades of artistic production from the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP).

Curated by João Silvério, Transition Zones brings together around 150 works and includes a selection of artists from different generations and countries. The works are drawn from areas of the collection such as painting, drawing, artist's books, sculpture, installation, photography and video, the last two being core areas of the collection.

The exhibition project for the two floors of the Torreão Nascente da Cordoaria Nacional (TNCN) pays particular attention to themes such as the representation of the body, architecture and the written word, in a meeting of the geographies, aesthetic, poetic and political imaginaries that shape the collection.

Transition Zones is a joint initiative with EGEAC and the Municipal Galleries of Lisbon, reinforcing the PLMJ Foundation's mission to present contemporary art in Portuguese, a commitment to culture and the community.
