04/11/2016

The PLMJ Italian Desk has been shortlisted for the third consecutive year in the TopLegal awards. TopLegal is the leading application in the Italian legal market and its awards recognise the best Italian Desks at foreign law firms.

PLMJ is the only Portuguese law firm to be shortlisted in this category, which recognises the representative offices in Italy that make the greatest contribution to supporting Italian businesses in their international operations. The awards focus on performance of Italian Desks, their ability to attract business and the deals they have advised on.

The PLMJ Italian Desk is headed by partner Serena Cabrita Neto, who is an Italian national. The Desk is staffed by a team of lawyers who are fluent in Italian and have knowledge of the Italian market and the culture of the country and who have built their experience over a number of years of advising individual clients and businesses of Italian origin or with Italian capital. The lawyers of the Italian Desk are particularly focused on supporting clients who want to invest in Portugal and in Portuguese-speaking countries, or other countries covered by PLMJ’s international network. They also specialise in advising Portuguese companies on their expansion to Italy. The PLMJ Italian Desk offers a multidisciplinary service.

PLMJ has been shortlisted alongside Bryan Cave, Debevoise & Plimpton, Garrigues, Herbert Smith Freehills, Luther, Schoenherr, Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, Squire Patton Boggs and Taylor Wessin.

The jury for the awards is made up of renowned specialists from the worlds of business, finance and government, and its chair is a representative of the TopLegal Research Centre. The awards ceremony will take place on 22 November in Milan.
