PLMJ hires João Mendes Dias as Chief Operating Officer

João Mendes Dias took up the role of PLMJ’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) on 1 April to reinforce the firm’s management structure.

João Mendes Dias was formerly managing director of Automobile Club de Portugal (ACP) and a director at Vodafone responsible for the corporate business unit. Prior to that, he worked at Motorola Portugal.

PLMJ managing partner Luís Pais Antunes says that "Hiring a person with the impressive career and professional experience of João Mendes Dias is a significant investment in the growing professionalisation of our firm, and a very important step in consolidating PLMJ’s position as a leading law firm". Pais Antunes also says that "João’s arrival at PLMJ coincides with the firm’s move to its new offices and the beginning of yet another dynamic chapter in PLMJ’s history".

For João Mendes Dias, "It is an honour to have the opportunity to take on a challenge as exciting as this one: to continue with the success story of Portugal’s largest law firm. The Portuguese legal market is thriving at the moment and I believe that my professional experience will provide added value, bearing in mind the increasing need to bring greater professionalism to the structures of law firms."
