PLMJ now has two managing partners and a strengthened management team

14/04/2020

PLMJ has evolved to a management model with two managing partners. Bruno Ferreira joins Luís Pais Antunes at the head of the firm’s board of directors.

The challenges that the current situation poses to the country and to the sector, along with the plan to prepare for the next two decades that was approved by PLMJ with the election of its current board in 2018, justify this reinforcement. It also reflects the strategic repositioning that that the firm, which today has around 430 people and around 300 lawyers, began in 2019.

For Luis Pais Antunes, co-managing partner “the current situation is particularly challenging for the country. But the increased focus this requires has not interrupted the path we started down at PLMJ to prepare the firm for the future and to prepare its new generations. This is the plan that pushes us all forward and this reinforcement allows us to achieve our goals with enthusiasm and determination.”

For Bruno Ferreira, a partner in Banking, Finance and Capital Markets and PLMJ’s new co-managing partner, “the challenge being faced by the country, the sector and PLMJ has several strands and is very demanding. In 2019, we started to reposition ourselves and we started down this path in various dimensions, from the business itself, to the focus on talent and to valuing  our teams”. We have followed this path with a great deal of thought and with success, and we will continue down it with our eyes fixed on the future.”

The board of directors, which took office in September 2018, is now reinforced with new partners. It now has nine members: Luis Pais Antunes and Bruno Ferreira as co-managing partners, André Figueiredo, Bárbara Godinho Correia, Duarte Schmidt Lino, Eduardo Nogueira Pinto, Miguel C. Reis, Ricardo Oliveira and Rita Samoreno Gomes.
