Pedro Lomba head new Technology, Mobility and Communications team

PLMJ is pleased to announces the creation of its new Technology, Mobility and Communications practice. This new team will be headed by the lawyer Pedro Lomba it replaces the Technology and Privacy team led by Daniel Reis, who has now left PLMJ.

The Technology, Mobility and Communications team deals with a broad range of problems, operations and sectors linked to the information society and the digital economy. It advises clients on all legal aspects of communications, the Internet, mobility, technology, advertising, intellectual and industrial property, e-commerce, privacy, and data protection.

Pedro Lomba is a PLMJ partner and has a PhD in law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, where he is also a professor. With over 17 years of professional experience as a lawyer, arbitrator and consultant, he is recognised as an expert in public and regulatory law. He has provided legal support to clients in regulated sectors undergoing rapid digitalisation and technological transformation. These include the sectors of mobility and transport, health and life sciences, including controlled substances, and e-commerce.

Pedro was also Secretary of State in the 19th and 20th Constitutional Governments (2013 -2015).

Pedro Lomba says, “I am facing this challenge as a natural continuation of a work I have been doing, in particular, in the sectors of communications, mobility and transport, digitalisation of the health sector and regulation of new technologies. That is why our focus is on taking a new approach to this multi-sector area of public and private regulation. With the Jorge Silva Martins, it will be possible to leverage our experience and know-how in very diverse areas. This will allow us to provide our clients with a full service of the highest quality”.
