Update - The Conversion of Bearer Securities

Law no. 15/2017, of 3 May, prohibited the issuance of new bearer securities as from 4 May of this year, and imposed the conversion of any bearer securities in circulation into nominative securities. This Law was subsequently regulated by Decree-Law no. 123/2017, of 25 September.
Pursuant to the law, the process of conversion of bearer securities into nominative securities must be completed by 4 November 2017, failing which, their holders will, from that date onwards, be prevented from transferring those securities and from exercising their rights to receive the proceeds associated with unconverted securities (such as dividends and interest).
