The exhibition brings together works from different generations and languages. It reflects the diversity and contrast that characterise the Foundation's photography collection, from black and white to colour, from analogue to digital, and from documentary to artistic. The works on display reveal unique perspectives on the city, architecture, everyday life and recent history, in a dialogue between eras, styles and geographies.
Curated by João Silvério, ‘contraste: 1949–2024’ features more than 45 works from the PLMJ Foundation's collection by 40 Portuguese-speaking artists.
