The Art and Culture Centre of the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation in Évora is hosting the exhibition Landscapes Change Places - Works from the PLMJ Foundation Collection. Bringing together more than fifty works by artists from Portuguese-speaking countries representing different generations and artistic styles, the exhibition showcases the diversity of Portuguese-speaking art.
The exhibition's curator, João Silvério, borrowed the title of the project from the Évora poet Manuel Gusmão. Silvério explains, "The exhibition is based on the idea of territory as a visual and social entity in a state of perpetual change, akin to a poetic concept of landscape as a backdrop to the art collection. At the same time, it is a transforming agent of the PLMJ Foundation's cultural universe, which is currently connected to the diverse Alentejo region, specifically Évora."
For the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation, this exhibition project, carried out in collaboration with the PLMJ Foundation, reflects "e importance of partnerships established with leading institutions, resulting in a more inclusive, plural and comprehensive programme that guarantees everyone the opportunity to enjoy contemporary art and actively participate in the debates and concerns it raises in modern society".
The exhibition is open from 28 February to 30 August 2026, from Tuesday to Sunday, with opening hours of 10:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00 (until 19:00 from May onwards). It is located at the Eugénio de Almeida Foundation's Centre for Art and Culture in Évora and admission is free.
