The PLMJ Foundation is holding another major exhibition of Portuguese-speaking artists away from its home gallery.
Titled 'um olhar itinerante' (an itinerant gaze), the exhibition has been invited by Banco das Artes Galeria in Leiria and offers a dual perspective: an examination of the territory that the Foundation has been exploring since its inception, and an exploration of the contemporary artistic landscape of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries).
This exhibition invites visitors to discover different generations of artists and the diversity of their approaches, including both revisited and previously unseen works.
Themes and languages intersect, ranging from the world of work to the social condition of women, from heritage to globalisation, and from fiction to fantasy and desire, from modernity to the contemporary.
It is a dialogue between art and life, constructed at the pace and with the sensitivity of each visitor.
Curated by João Silvério, the exhibition features around 50 works from the PLMJ Foundation collection by over 30 Portuguese-speaking artists.
Admission is free and the exhibition is open to the public every day from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Banco das Artes Galeria in Largo 5 de Outubro, Leiria.
