17/06/2025

PLMJ and CAM Lisboa - Centro de Arbitragem Marítima (Maritime Arbitration Centre) invite you to a conference on Specialised Arbitration: Maritime Arbitration.

In a year that has seen record numbers of ships and other vessels registered in Portuguese ports, it is becoming ever more important for specialist bodies and institutions to keep pace with the enormous growth in this area of business.

PLMJ and the Maritime Arbitration Centre of the CONCÓRDIA Association (CAM Lisboa) are holding a conference dedicated to maritime law arbitration. The aim of the conference is to reflect on and discuss issues affecting the sector, bearing in mind Portugal's unique history of maritime business and the growth of this area.

The conference will open with a speech by Diogo Duarte de Campos, chairman of the Management Committee of CAM Lisboa and partner at PLMJ. Jonathan Lux, an arbitrator and mediator based in London, has been invited to share his experience of resolving maritime disputes in his home city as the keynote speaker.

We will be discussing topics such as the impact of the trade war on shipping disputes and the development of maritime trade, a sector which has attracted significant investment and is expected to grow further in the coming years.

We look forward to seeing you there!
