Tiago Duarte told Público he believes that “the right of access to political office is a subjective, individual and fundamental right”

The newspaper Público has taken a close look at the decisions of the Lisbon and Oeiras Courts, one of which gave the green light to a re-candidacy and the other that limited access. Tiago Duarte, a constitutional law expert and PLMJ partner who specialises in public law, believes these decisions were to be expected as they depend on an interpretation of the law limiting terms of office in local government.
