PLMJ advises TCC on purchase of CIMPOR

PLMJ advised TCC (Taiwan Cement Corporation) on the acquisition of 60% of CIMPOR for €480 million.

The deal was led by Diogo Perestrelo, partner and co-head of the Corporate M&A practice, and included João Regadas, managing associate, Ânia Cruz, João Trindade da Silva, Beatriz Veiga Santos, Carolina Inverno Branco, Inês Cruz Rodrigues, associates, and Maria Brasileiro de Mello, trainee.

These lawyers worked with the Public Law team, including Maria Zagallo, partner, Raquel Freitas, senior counsel, Benedita Lacerda, managing associate, together with Ana Nunes da Silva, Sara Gomes Duarte, Mafalda Pissarra Diogo, António Brás Simões, Telmo Coutinho Rodrigues, Mariana Lopes Farinha, António Lopes Garcia, João Palmeiro Carrilho and Tiago Salem.

A further contribution came from the Real Estate and Tourism team, including Sérgio Antunes Teixeira, managing associate, and Tatiana Pardal Pires, Alexandre Hierro, Maria Francisca Pereira and Manuel Abecasis.

Bárbara Bastos Viegas, managing associate of the Dispute Resolution practice, also assisted in the deal, as did the Banking and Finance team, comprising Raquel Azevedo, partner, Joana Marques dos Reis, senior associate, with João Terrinha, Leonor Urbano Guiomar and Tiago Jesus Bento.

The firm's work included coordinating the operation in Portugal and in the African jurisdictions where CIMPOR is present: Cape Verde, Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon.
