PLMJ's senior counsel has contributed a chapter to a book on the technological and legal challenges of Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs).

Madalena Perestrelo de Oliveira has published an article entitled ‘DAOs and innovative regulation: reconciling corporate and blockchain-based organisational models’.

The article by the senior counsel in PLMJ's Banking and Finance and Corporate M&A teams is included in the book "Decentralised Autonomous Organisations in the Legal Landscape: From Decentralised Governance to Legal Frontiers". This book explores in depth the concept and legal status of Decentralised Autonomous Organisations (DAOs), addressing not only the technological challenges but also the complex legal issues raised by these organisations.

Topics such as innovation, digital law, blockchain and the future of business organisation are addressed in this book, which also compares the regulatory frameworks in Europe and the US.

This work offers a reflection on what ‘organisation’ means in a decentralised era.
