About Madalena

Madalena is a senior counsel in the Banking and Finance and Corporate M&A practices. In recent years, she has focused on civil, commercial and securities law.

Madalena holds a PhD from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and has been a guest lecturer there since 2011. She was also a lecturer at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics. In addition, she is a researcher at the Research Centre for Private Law of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and a member of Governance Lab.

She completed the curricular component of the master's degree in legal studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and attended the postgraduate course in securities law organised by the Securities Institute at the same faculty.

Madalena is co-head of various postgraduate courses in corporate finance, corporate governance, insolvency law and corporate recovery, as well as intensive courses on investment funds, digital corporate finance and breach of contract. She also co-heads scientific symposia on venture capital and capital markets.

She regularly lectures on postgraduate programmes and speaks at conferences. She has also published scientific articles and monographs in her areas of expertise.

Madalena began her career at PLMJ in 2015 and returned to the firm in 2020 after completing her doctoral research.
