About Nuno

Nuno is a managing associate in the Banking and Finance and Capital Markets practice at PLMJ and has more than 10 years' experience.

He is also responsible for the firm's Mozambique practice, serving as the managing partner of NMP Advogados – PLMJ Colab Mozambique. Admitted to practise in both Portugal and Mozambique, Nuno specialises in advising on financing transactions and project development in the Portuguese and Mozambican markets.

Nuno provides advice to sponsors, borrowers, commercial financial institutions, and multilateral and bilateral development banks on projects and financing transactions. He has a particular focus on the energy, oil and gas, LNG, energy transition, natural resources, and infrastructure sectors. He also has experience in secondary market transactions, strategic joint ventures, structured finance, corporate finance, asset finance and trade and export finance.

He has developed particular expertise in project finance and structuring transactions relating to voluntary carbon markets, including the applicable regulatory framework for carbon credit projects and nature-based solutions. He is also a regular speaker at conferences on blue carbon, climate finance, and carbon markets.

Nuno holds a law degree from NOVA School of Law and a master's degree in administrative law specialising in public procurement from Católica Lisbon School of Law. He also has an LL.M. in International Business Law from Católica Global School of Law.

He is admitted to both the Portuguese and Mozambican Bar Associations.
