Carmen heads PLMJ’s Faro office. She works in litigation and arbitration, contracts, international trade and business law.
She has 17 years’ experience and her areas of expertise are litigation and arbitration in corporate disputes, unfair competition, enforcement of contracts (with significant experience in golf rights and construction contracts) and actions of a personal nature. Carmen also acts for clients in the tourism and real estate sectors, specifically, owners of tourism developments and hotels. She advises these clients on the various legal issues arising in their day-to-day business, involving real estate law, tourism, corporate contracts, and brands, among others.
Carmen is currently one of the directors on the board of the British-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.
She has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, an LLM in international trade and business law from the Faculty of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa and she completed an extension course in arbitration at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
