João Marques Mendes

About João
João is a partner in the Projects and Energy and Public Law practices and has more than 15 years' experience.
He focuses on energy and natural resources, advising Portuguese and international clients on regulatory matters, projects, transactions and disputes.
In the areas of energy and public law, João focuses on the implementation and operation of projects and infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on renewable energy. He advises some of Portugal's leading energy companies, especially on regulatory and contractual matters. He also advises on dispute resolution in the fields of energy and regulatory law.
João is the author of numerous papers and articles on energy law and is regularly invited to lecture and speak at courses, seminars and conferences on energy and regulatory law.
Before joining PLMJ, he was a lawyer at CMS Rui Pena & Arnaut.
