Paulo is a partner in the Dispute Resolution practice and has more than 30 years' experience.
He specialises in criminal law, white-collar crime, compliance, administrative offences and sports law.
Between January and November 2012, Paulo was vice-president of the Disciplinary Committee of the Lisbon Football Association, and until March 2013 he was a member of the Professional Football Committee of Sporting Clube de Portugal SAD.
Since 2020, he has been a member of the Professional Ethics Council of the Portuguese Bar Association, serving during the 2020-2022 and 2023-2025 terms.
He holds a postgraduate qualification in accounting and corporate legal advisory services from Católica Lisbon School of Law, attended the postgraduate course in European Economic Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra, and completed the Executive Course in Football Law at the Portugal Football School of the Portuguese Football Federation.
Paulo has participated in conferences and seminars on criminal law, criminal procedure, administrative offences, compliance and sports law.
He is a founding member of Fórum Penal, an association of criminal lawyers, and a member of other professional associations, including the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), the Union Internationale des Avocats (UIA), the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Portuguese Sports Law Association (APDD), where he currently serves as vice-president.
