Senior counsel in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice.
Joana is a senior counsel in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice. With over 15 years' experience, she specialises in providing legal advice on digital law, data protection, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. She advises clients in the financial, technology and industrial sectors on issues relating to privacy, data governance, regulatory compliance and digital transformation.
She specialises in artificial intelligence projects, digital platforms, data monetisation and new technologies. She assists organisations with implementing compliance programmes, managing risk and formulating legal strategies for complex digital environments. Her legal practice also covers cybersecurity issues, including incident response, personal data breaches and regulatory risk mitigation.
Joana holds a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Universidade Nova de Lisboa, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Intellectual Property Law and Personal Data Protection from the same institution. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Legal and Economic Sciences at the University of Coimbra's Faculty of Law.
Joana is the author and co-author of numerous publications on artificial intelligence, data protection, technology, and digital regulation.
