The Scientific Research and Innovation Tax Incentive (‘SRI’) was introduced in the beginning of 2024 to attract highly qualified professionals and to promote research, development, and innovation activities in Portugal. 

The SRI focuses primarily on encouraging investment in scientific research, innovative technology, and highly qualified employment across industries that can significantly contribute to the Portuguese economy.
